If you’re an online marketer you should be cloaking your affiliate links so that you don’t suffer from commission theft.
Also, if you’re building backlinks to your site via forums and blog posts you don’t want to use links to other domains, but build up links back to your site.
You should always control all your links which is why many top affiliate use redirects.
A redirect is simply a page on a domain you control, which redirects to another page.
The reason many top affiliates do this is so they always control their links.
If a company goes out of business and you’ve spent hours building up a ton of backinks to their site.. All that effort is wasted if you didn’t use a redirect.
There are quite a few different kinds of redirects but the popular ones are:
- Meta Refresh
- Javascript Redirects
- HTML Redirects
- PHP Redirects
I’ve created an HTML Redirect Generator which you may find useful. Just enter your link and reload the page.. and it generates a number of html codes you can use to make an html redirect page.
Check it out at MyRedirectCode.com

I’ve added some new features to Tipz.com to enable contributors to pick up valuable backlinks and traffic, simply by participating on the site.
For Commenters..
I’ve added Wordpress Magnet, this plugin gives prizes to those that have approved comments on our site. I’ve just loaded the first prize which is an ebook of mine. So post 1 quality comment and get my ebook. More comments, more prizes. Simple isn’t it.
I also installed Comment Luv, this plugin is very cool. It basically ads a link to “your” most recent blog post in all the comments you leave on this site and other comment luv sites. Genius.. You set up a Comment Luv account and enter your Blog Feed address. Then start posting. The links are no-follow but think about the potential traffic.
For Authors
I’ve added Wordpress Role Manager so that those that wish to register as an author can submit original tips/articles and get two keyword optimized links back to the site. I plan on doing some sort of revenue sharing as well.
This is so much better then a regular article directory as the content’s all original and I’m building this blog into an authority site. Think about it.. take 10 minutes, signup and write a quality tip and get two “follow” backlinks on an 11 year old site.
Important.. the theme of this site is Tips. So your posts should focus on “How To’s” “Best Ways” Tutorials, explanations etc..
That’s it for now.. want to get started?
