Are you going back to school? Has it been years since you last dragged a backpack to class? Are you worried that you won’t fit in, specially with how kids today dress? Well then, don’t here are some tips on how you can dress as an old “new” student”

Find out if the school or university as a dress code. Some schools can be lenient but some can be strict. The last thing you’d want is to be called for your inappropriate clothing on the first day of school.

Sometimes, teachers often announce what to dress for a particular class. Lab work requires you to wear a lab coat and closed-toe shoes. P.E. would of course require you to be in sportswear. So pay attention during orientation or the first day of classes so that you’ll find these things out.

Do not dress in flashy clothes. Well, at least those that can be distracting to your classmates and to yoru teachers as well. You are in school to learn and not to showcase your fashion sense or sense of style.

Dress for comfort. Always wear whatever is comfortable is to you (as long as it adheres to the dress code, if there is one). You won’t be able to concentrate in class if your top is itchy or if your pants are too tight.

Dress neatly. Whatever you wear, make sure that it is clean and pressed, if necessary. This shows something about you as a person – that you care enough about going to school that you took care of your appearance. Sloppy dressing may make people think that you’re sloppy in your studies too. Of course, this may not be true, but first impressions do matter. And you do want to make good ones, don’t you?
