For Parents: How to Show Love to Your Kids Throughout the Day
Morning:
To surprise your kid first thing in the morning, try hanging a note or a smiley face on your child’s bathroom mirror. You can do this before he or she wakes up or after he or she gets to bed.
Fix your kid’s favorite breakfast.
Give your kid a nice accessory for his or her outfit to school. For example, a pair of cute hair clips for your daughter, or a sheriff badge for your son to put on his shirt or his backpack.
Lunchtime:
Add a happy note in your child’s lunch box.
After-school:
Make afternoon snacks together. Bake cookies or create sandwiches for yourselves. You not only can talk freely about his or her day at school, but you can also teach him or her a culinary trick or two.
Work along side your children while they are doing their homework. Not only will you be near when they ask help, but your presence simply states that you will always be there for them even if you are working.
Bedtime:
Read your children a story. This will also develop their love for books.
You can also leave a good night message to your child. Better yet, record your voice so that they can hear it even if you are not there to tuck them in at night.
