For Single Guys: How to Do the Laundry

July 27, 2010 | In: Cleaning

Before beginning to do the laundry, make sure that you familiarize yourself with the territory. Know the equipment you’ll be needing – the washer, the dryer, and what each button and dial is for.

Read labels when choosing laundry products. You should know which is for which. For example, there is detergent that is specific for whites, that if you’ll use it on colored fabric, they will fade, etc.

Appoint one or two days in a week where you will do your laundry. Even guys, don’t want to get behind their laundry so as not to be overwhelmed. Besides, practice makes perfect.

Sort your laundry. First sort them by whites and colored clothes. When you’re done with this, you can sort the whites and then the colored by their fabric. For examples, wash all denim together, all silk together, etc.

Read the labels on the items to make sure that you are washing and drying them correctly. Some fabrics are sensitive to high temperature and some cannot even be touched by water.

Don’t overload your washing machine. Not only will this keep your machine from breaking down, but it is more efficient for washing.

Fold your clothes as soon as they dry and place them on a clothes basket for ironing. If they need not be ironed, place them in your drawer or closet as soon as possible. Do not let them lie around your house where they can get dirty again.
