Packing Accessories When Traveling
It is very tempting to bring everything when you’re traveling. But you really don’t have to bring much except for the essentials, and that also goes for accessories:
Bring two handbags – one day bag, and a small clutch for when you go out in the evenings, or when you need to dress-up a bit. Get something in classic styles and those that come in dark or neutral colors so you can easily pair them with any pair of shoes and also any outfit you may have. If you are willing to lug around with a slightly larger day bag, then you can get one that can double as your carry on. That means, you can be more generous in bringing clothes.
Shoes can be very heavy and they can take up a lot of space so the key here, like the bag is to bring something versatile. In other words – stick to classic styles and neutral colors. If you’re on a business trip, a pair of moderately heeled shoes can work great even if you go out later in the evening. Ballet flats are stylish yet comfortable enough for day wear. Flip flops are thin and light enough to bring when traveling. If you need to wear boots, make sure that you wear them when you travel so you don’t need to worry about packing them.
As for other accessories, take those which can change your look from day or business wear to classy evening wear. Bring a pair of tights. A couple of silk scarves can act as a wrap or a belt. It can also be a good hair accessory. Classic jewelry such as pearls or diamond studs are advisable to wear. A pair of dangling earrings and some bangles can spice up a black dress from business to evening wear.
