March 23, 2010 | In: Career, Featured, General

Here are steps on how to address an envelope:

Write on the back side of the envelope (the one without the flap). Print the return address in the upper left-hand corner.

Start with the sender’s name then the sender’s street address.

Second line should be the street address (include the house or apartment number or P.O.Box).

Third line should be the county or city followed by a space and then the two-letter capitalized state abbreviation followed by the ZIP code.

If you’re sending to another country, add a fourth line where you should print the name of your country in all caps.

If you’re writing a business letter, start with the company’s name make sure you use the company’s official envelope. If you don’t have an official envelope, make sure that you use a printer instead of writing by hand.

In the center of the envelope, print the mailing address (or the address of the mail’s destination). Use the same ordering of details as the one above.

Attach proper postage. This should be placed on the upper right-hand corner of the envelope.
