Avoid Emotional Eating
A lot of people tends to let their emotions affect their eating habits. Some eat more when they are bored, or when they are sad or stressed. If you feel that you feel like compensating not-so-happy feelings by eating, then here are some tipz that might be helpful to you:
The best way to stop this habit is to get to the root of your emotional problem. Identify your emotional trigger. Is it boredom? Is it stress? What kind of stress? Is it anger? Once you find out where the problem lies, then target it. If you are bored, find a hobby. If you are stressed at work or at home, then find relaxation techniques or you can begin changing your lifestyle.
This will not be easy. So if you can get professional help like counseling, or a friend or family member who can monitor your progress then all the better. You also have to realize that this overcoming this problem takes time and won’t be solved overnight. Be patient and persevere.
As for the hunger pangs, you can resolve it by keeping healthy food in the fridge and cupboard. So instead of stuffing yourself with chocolate or chips, you can eat fruits and nuts instead. Don’t forget to get plenty of water everyday. Sometimes, your hunger is just dehydration. So keep yourself hydrated and you’ll feel less hungry. You can also channel your extra energy to a hobby or by going to the gym.
