How to Avoid Overpacking

BaggageAvoid Overpacking

It’s very difficult to pack clothes without overpacking (unless, of course, you’re an expert packer). But here are some tips on how to pack without bursting the seams of your luggage.

If you’re boarding a plane, check your airline’s baggage size and weight restriction. This will help you discipline yourself when you do start packing.

Check your itinerary and plan what you bring accordingly. Will you need  dressy clothes? Or will casual clothes do?

You can also research the weather at your destination. Why bring bulky sweaters if you really are going to sweat in the tropics? Bring light windbreakers instead. Consider the lightness and washability of the clothes.

Plan your clothes so that you can mix and match the pieces. With this, you won’t have to bring different “matching” sets of clothes. Just include accessories so you can still be fashionable even while on the road.

Bring a lightweight duffel bag. This is for the clothes that you would end up buying during your travel anyway.
