Bargain Shopping

Shopping for bargains can be quite tricky for novices, but it’s a skill that you can develop over time. Here are some tipz on how to be a wiser shopper:

Ask yourself the following two questions before you purchase an item:

  • Do I need it?

There is a difference between “want” and “need.” Do not buy something that you is not useful for everyday and learn to prioritize your spending.

  • Is it usable?

If you would just allow the item to sit inside a closet or a cupboard then you probably don’t need it. If you don’t need it, why buy it?

Focus on the sturdy and ease out on fad shopping. This means that when buying clothes or anything else, make sure that they are comfortable, usable/wearable for at least the next two years. Fads usually last a couple of months, so if you buy something just because they’re “in,” you won’t get your money’s worth.

Bargain shopping doesn’t mean spending less. Focus on the quality first and then the price. A slightly expensive coat can be considered a bargain if it can last you at least five years rather than buying a cheap one which you would have to replace every two years.
