Being Polite in a Restaurant
Who hasn’t heard of the horror stories of what waiting staff and cooks do to food orders from obnoxious customers? Here are some tipz on how to make sure you do not fall prey into this infamous practice.

The general rule is to be polite. Waiters are human beings too. Sure it is their job to wait on you, but do they have to do it with difficulty? Just imagine being on your feet all day ( or evening), rushing in and out trying to remember orders. A rude customer is the last thing these people need. If you are generally polite and pleasant, then consider yourself safe.

Be patient. Calling the attention of a waiter requires one simple gesture – a raise of hand. Don’t wave as it gives a sense of impolite urgency. Be a little mroe understanding if the place is packed.

Your waiter waits on tables other than yours. Never grab the elbow of your waiter, especially if the poor person is carrying a tray-ful of dishes. Never touch your waiter, period.

Control your tone of voice and your attitude. A condescending manner of speaking won’t endear you to your waiter.

Avoid being fussy such as changing your mind over dishes that have been ordered, etc.

Although it’s a prerogative to tip your waiter, if you have extra money, why not leave something especially if you received good service.
