How to Be Safe When You Work the Graveyard Shift
July 6, 2010 | In: Career
Some people do not like working the graveyard shift as it can be quite dangerous, especially if they have to go home in the wee hours of the morning.
Find a good and safe parking lot close to your building (that if if your place of work cannot provide parking spaces). Make sure you don’t leave your car in dark alleys or road sides, and those far from other business or commercial establishments. Leave early if you must.
Have your car ready in your hand when you approach your car. Do not take your time looking for your keys inside your bag. Be sure that you assess your surroundings. Take note of the people near you or approaching you.
Find out if a security personnel from your work can walk you to your car and wait until you have safely driven away before he leaves.
