How to Bring Food to a Potluck Party
July 16, 2010 | In: Cooking, Food, Manners and Etiquette, Special Occassions

A potluck event is when guests are asked to contribute to the occasion by bringing food for everyone to eat.
If the host of the party did not specify what food you should bring (ie. main dish, dessert, appetizers, snacks, etc.), then inform them of what you will be bringing. Ask about how many servings of the food you should be bringing as well.
Prepare and cook everything at home. Do not assume that there will be a place in the venue for you to do finishing touches that would require special tools or equipment. Carry them in coolers if they require chilling.
Bring your own serving spoon to be safe. Label it if you wish so it won’t get lost.
And one other important thing, don’t be late for the party. The host expects to have the food ready by meal time, so don’t disappoint your host.
