How to Calculate Snacks for a Party

Here are some tips on how to make sure you have enough food for everyone if you’re throwing a party.
Ask for RSVPs when you’re inviting people. It can be as informal as a text message, an e-mail or even a phone call. If people aren’t replying, you can go ahead and bug them. The key here is you have ample time to plan the food.
Once you have your guest list, you can start planning what you wish to serve your guests. Go with measurements such as a pound per guest. If you’re serving pizza, or snacks that come in slices or pieces, allot about 4 pieces for each kind per person.
If you have a few people coming over, you can just have three or four kinds of snacks. For larger gatherings, you can have three heavy snacks and a variety of light snacks as well.
If you’re on a budget, you can try setting the time of the party an hour or two after lunch or dinner. This means, people are most likely still full from their main meals. This should mean less heavy snacks for you to prepare.
