Treating Minor Cuts
Minor cuts heal fast if treated carefully. It’s another story if they get infected. Here are some tipz on how to care for minor cuts and abrasions:
Prepare the things you will need - clean water, clean gauze, clean bandages, Betadine. Wash your hands before you treat the wound. Use soap and scrub thoroughly under running water.
Rinse the wound of any dirt and debris using clean water. If the wound is bleeding, get a piece of gauze and place this on the wound, applying pressure until the bleeding stops. Clean the area surrounding the wound using Betadine.
Leave the wound open to the air unless it is susceptible to dirt or infection. If this is the case, bandage the would loosely so that air can still get in, letting the wound “breathe.” Change the bandage if necessary.
Go to the doctor for signs of infection – redness, oozing or drainage from the wound, and abnormal warmth of the area of the wound.
