Young children should not be left in kitchens unsupervised as many objects can be dangerous for them. However, here are some suggestions on how to child-proof your kitchen, just in case your children wander off in it accidentally.
Place oven locks on the oven door and keep your broiler clean. Get rid of grease, oil spills, and burns. Turn stove dials off completely after using and you can even purchase stove knob covers as well.Pot handles should be turned toward the back of the stove.
Store matches and lighters, and toxic and dangerous products out of reach of children. High cabinets are good storage places for these. Never store them under the sink.
Keep knives and other sharp objects stored away in latched drawers. Some knives also have covers or sheaths. Keep them safe there.
Keep blenders, and food processors locked in cabinets. Unplug appliances as well and do not allow electrical cords to dange where children can reach. They might pull the appliances which can then fall on them.
