How to Choose a Wedding Date
June 9, 2010 | In: Weddings

Some engaged couples find it difficult to decide on a wedding date. For said future brides and grooms, here are some tips and suggestions on making this task easier for you:
Upon your engagement, discuss how long you would want to be engaged. Make sure that you consider present circumstances, and financial and emotional capabilities. Perhaps, it is better to have a long engagement or you might want to go ahead and hold the wedding this year.
Find out which season you would want to get married. If your concern is the budget, then you would want to get married in fall or winter as most weddings occur in spring or summer. If your concern are your guests, make sure you find a date where everyone, even those from far away places can attend.
Weekend weddings are more expensive than those on a workweek. If you only have a few guests, and this won’t be a problem to either of you, you may consider having your wedding on a week day.
If you’re the sentimental type, you may want to consider your engagement date or key dates (such as anniversaries) in your relationship to be your wedding date as well.
