Applying foundation adds a flawless and polished look to your skin. However, not all foundation can suit one’s skin. Here are some tipz on how to find the right foundation for your skin:

Consider your skin-type. If you have drier skin, you can choose one with moisturizing ingredients. For oily skin, better to stick to oil-free products.

Many foundation have different finishes. Consider which you like, is it satiny or matte? Or sheer or heavy coverage?

Before you buy foundation, test the color. Make sure that they match your skin tone. If you’re Caucasian or Asian, a yellow-toned foundation will be good for you. Hispanics might try products with yellow-orange undertones. For African-Americans, experiment with light, medium, and dark shades of foundation. This is to allow for different gradations of color on different parts of your face.

Ask for a sample from the cosmetics attendant. Apply lightly on your jawline. Get one that is closest to your skin coloring. Remember that foundations look darker in their packages, especially the liquid ones.

You can also use a tinted moisturizer for light day-wear. Many foundations contain special ingredients such as sun screen. You can opt to buy those so you won’t have to get multiple products when you can get them in one.
