How to Choose Moisture-Proof Tents For Winter Camping
July 30, 2010 | In: Travel

Moisture from rain or snow can damage tents overtime. If you are a camping or outdoor enthusiast, you may want your tents to last for some time before you buy another.
Make sure you buy tents made with weatherproof material. Tents that can withstand winter precipetation such as snow, sleet, ice, and rain, maybe more expensive but investing in these types of tents is actually cheaper in the long run.
Free-standing tents are a better choice for winter camping because these can withstand shed snow. Check the label if what you’re buying is a winter tent.
Look for tents with frost liners. You can also purchase them seperately and install them on your own.
Regulate condensation inside the tent. You can do this by having a rainfly. It can help ventilate tent walls. This will increase fixed air space layers.
