Cleaning coffee pots can be downright dirty, especially if you have to worry about stains. Well, not anymore! Just follow these quick easy steps and you’ll have a nice, clean pot once again.

Dilute 1/3 cup of white vinegar with water. Pour this solution into your coffee maker (without the filter) and run it through like you’re just like you would with your coffee. When it’s done, let is sit for at least fifteen minutes before pouring out the vinegar and water solution.

Rinse the pot with cold water. Run cold water into the coffee maker. Repeat procedure until you are sure that both coffee and vinegar residues are completely gone.

Now on to the coffee maker.

The next thing you have to do is to unplug the coffee maker. Like cleaning any appliance, unplugging when cleaning ensures that everything is accident-free (from electric shock).
Soak the grounds basket in hot soapy water for fifteen minutes before rinsing with warm water and letting dry on towel.

While waiting, you can clean the base. Using a soft sponge or cloth, wipe off the base of the coffee maker with hot soapy water. Do not scrub vigorously. For tougher stains, you can use a warm-water-and-vinegar solution.

Dry the coffee maker with a soft cloth, buffing until it shines. Reassemble coffee maker.
