Concrete Floor Cleaning Concrete Floors

Planning to clean some concrete flooring? Here are some no-sweat tipz to keep the garage floor pristine and spotless:

Prepare the following materials:

  • push broom
  • wet/dry vacuum
  • nylon brush (the stiff-bristled type)
  • garden hose with sprayer nozzle or a power washer
  • sawdust
  • dishwasher detergent or a non-hazardous concrete cleaning solution
  • long handled squeegee

First up is to remove all items off the floor and place them elsewhere.

Check for any grease or oil stains (especially if you are dealing with a garage floor). Place sawdust over these spots and let them absorb the grease or oil for 24 hours. While waiting, you can go over the stuff you’ve had in your garage and sort which you can finally get rid of.

Open the door and windows for ventilation. You can now sweep the sawdust using a push broom. For thorough cleaning, you can also use a vacuum cleaner.

Wet the floor and scrub clean using a nylon brush and dishwashing detergent or a concrete cleaning solution. Rinse off suds using the garden hose. Push the dirty water out. Squeegee after and allow to air dry.
