How to Cook Over a Campfire

Summer is here, and one fun thing to do while on vacation is to go out camping. If you’re afraid of starving when you do, here are some tipz on how to cook over a campfire:
Build a cooking fire by making an open pit. Make sure that it’s away from flammable items such as bushes or trees. Make the pit several inches deep and set the dirt aside so you can fill it up later.
Make sure that the flame is small. It is best to cook on a deep bed of live coals, instead of a raging fire.
You can cook directly over the heat or you can wrap food such as meat and vegetables in heavy-duty aluminum foil. Place on the coals and cook for about 15 minutes.
You can also skewer food such as hotdog and roast it over the fire. For bread, you may also use a flat iron propped over the coals. This can also be done using a grill.
For pots, simply hang them on a tripod (makeshift using durable sticks will do), or prop them against two logs on either side of the coals.
Remember to extinguish the fire with water once you’re done and fill the pit with the dirt.
