Dealing with Holiday Shopping Crowd

Do you want to avoid the throngs of people rushing doing their Christmas shopping during the holidays? Here are some quick tips to make sure you live through until the next year.

The most surefire way to avoid all the buying frenzy is to start early. Plan your gift ideas by October (early November, the latest). List down the people you’ll be giving gifts to and possible gift items you wish to buy them. Don’t forget to note down your budget too.

Next, decide on where and when to do your shopping. Find out the holiday business hours. Plan your parking too. Find somewhere you can park where it is of close proximity to all the stores you wish to visit, without wasting time driving from one shop to another.

Find out the off-peak days and hours of stores. You will find that sales people are more helpful and lines at the cash register are shorter if you shop at these times.

If you can’t avoid it, and you still need to shop during the holidays, then brace yourself. Eat before leaving the house and put on your most comfortable shoes. Plan your shopping well and always expect the worst.

If you find yourself arguing over a particular item with another customer, mind that it is always best to talk it through civilly. Remember to gather more patience and you’ll soon get out of the shopping hell alive.
