How to Deodorize Mattresses

July 9, 2010 | In: Cleaning

Mattress can accumulate odor over time. The best way to prevent this or to get rid of the odor is by doing the following:

Regularly vacuum the thing. You can do this once a week, or once every two weeks. This will get rid of surface dirt and other particles that might give your mattress a musty or unwanted smell.

Spot-treat surface stains. simply mix soap and water in a container then dab with a clean cloth on the spot. Rub gently until the stain is gone. Press with a dry towel on the wet spot afterwards to help absorb the moisture. Make sure you let it dry thoroughly. For more stubborn stains, you can also try sprinkling baking soda on the stain.

You can also use fabric deodorizer if you wish.
