Teenagers and Lunch

Who says kids are picky eaters? Just give them something colorful and fun looking and they’ll eat it. But teenagers, always find something to complain about. So if packed lunch is always an issue between you and your teenagers, here are some ideas on how to go about it:

Allow them freedom to choose what they want to eat, granted that you give them healthy options too. If your teenagers are culinary inclined, you can allow them independence in the kitchen. But just make sure that you have your cupboards and fridge stocked with fruits, vegetables, sliced meats and cheeses, and other stuff that they can easily make into a sandwich.

You can also make personal pizzas, or hamburger patties, or meatballs, casseroles, and pasta the night before or over the weekend. You can store them in containers which you can freeze. You or your teenagers can simply pop these into the microwave oven in the morning before going to school.

If you have leftover dinner that your youngsters like, you can also transfer these into lunch containers which can be heated the next day. If they like it, they won’t mind if they’re leftovers or not.

If all else fails, you can always give them lunch money instead.
