How to Get National Geographic Images for Desktop Wallpaper Use

Windows has decided to feature more of nature in the past two incarnations of Windows. Vista even dubbed the scenic wallpapers “Vistas” for good measure.
I know a number of people who would opt staring at these natures scenes as their wallpapers too bad there are only so many good photographs fit to be used as wallpapers. Some images are just too “busy” to be used as wallpapers for cluttered desktops.
Freeware Genius shares a couple of good sources of these scenic images from National Geographic themselves.

One source is the National Geographic Photography sub-site wallpaper section. There, wallpapers are categorized in categories for your browsing ease. It even has screensavers for download if you want to create a whole desktop theme.
Another source is from National Geographic’s International Photography Contest 2009. You can download and use the entries. The images are sorted according to their entry dates.
From your browser, you can simply right-click on the image and click on “Set as Desktop Background” or a similar option to use the image. If you don’t have that option on your browser, you can download the picture and manually change your wallpaper to that image.
