Some tips to help you make the best of your shopping money.
Schedule your shopping properly. Do it early in the day so that other shoppers haven’t picked through the merchandise yet.
Befriend the salespeople. Be nice to them and thank them for their help. This way they will always help you when you shop again. You can also get inside information on the new shipments and merchandise.
Shop the day or a couple of days after shipment is due.
You may also want to add your name to the store’s mailing list so they can send you news and announcements about sales, and new shipments.
Some stores make room for new arrivals so they mark down several of their merchandise weekly. Check the special clearance racks as there are some items marked for as low as 90%.
Don’t get stuck with just one store. Ask around and compare. Sometimes, stores have better buys only on particular items such as swimwear, or children’s wear.
