Gifting a Restaurant Dinner
Giving someone a gift-card for a dinner at a restaurant is not only an acceptable form of gift-giving, but a practical one as well. Both you and the recipient wouldn’t have to worry about preparing
The first thing to consider is that you are not gifting the dinner to yourself. Although you may have impeccable tastes when it comes to dining out, remember that as a gift, the dinner should be something that the recipient will really appreciate. If the recipient loathes spicy food, why bring him or her to an Indian restaurant?
Think of the restaurant’s location. Make sure that the recipient would be able to go to it with ease whether by car or by public transport. Think also of the ambiance of the restaurant. Do you think the recipient would like a swanky restaurant? Or am artsy bar would be more to his or her liking?
Make sure that the whole dinner is covered by your budget. Look at the menu. Aside from the main course, factor in appetizers, side dishes, beverages (which might include wine, if the recipient is fond of it), and dessert. Think of the people who are coming with you. Would it just be a two-person meal or would it include other friends as well.
Don’t just hand in the gift card. You can be creative on how to do it. Perhaps you can put a gift card to an Italian restaurant in a small pizza box.
