How to Give a Couple’s Wedding Shower

May 21, 2010 | In: Weddings

Some couples like to make do without bridal showers and bachelor parties, believe it or not. But for friends who still wish to give the couple a happy “send off,” you can do the following:

Make sure that you ask input from the couple so that they’ll know what they’re getting. It’s also extra precaution to make sure that you’re inviting the right people.

Make a guest list. You don’t need to invite everyone, but at least make sure that you’re inviting those who were invited to the wedding. This is why it’s important to make sure that you get the couple’s okay on this. Send out invitations.

Select a date, time, and venue that will be convenient to everyone, especially the couple.

You may or may not choose a theme. You can center decorations, and the menu as well. You may hire a caterer, or you can make it a potluck event.

Limit the event to a few hours. You can include this in the invitation.

You may include a list of activities. Don’t forget the gift-opening. Men might find this boring, so provide alternative activities for them as well.
