How to Handle Travel Disruptions

Here are tips on how to handle travel disruptions, especially if there are emergencies such as bad weather, etc.
Don’t panic. Stay composed and calm so you can think rationally of the best thing to do.
Contact or go to the airline desk to and out the details of the cancellation, and if there is anything that is being done. You can also go through alternate airlines.
If the wait is not too long, you can stay in the airplane lounge or restaurant and work on your laptop, or read a magazine.
If the delay is long and if it would be in your safety and best interest to stay elsewhere, book a room in a nearby hotel until your next scheduled flight.
However, try to keep yourself updated. If you’re leaving the airport, make sure that you leave your name and contact number in case you need to be contacted. Check the airline operator online or the airport for news.
Check with your airline the extent of their duty to care for their passengers. If you’re on a budget, you wouldn’t want to spend more than usual.
