Planning on a quick weekend trip out of town? Here are some tips on how to make the best of your short stay by making sure that your hotel reservations are hassle-free. Now all you have to worry about is how to get that even tan!
- Make sure that you have all the information you need when you are making reservations – arrival and departure dates, any specials or club discounts you may have, address, phone number, and credit card.
- Mention special requests (i.e. room with a view, etc.) at the time of reservation so the hotel people can have ample time to accommodate your request.
- You can avail of confirmed or guaranteed reservations. This would entail you to pay up (via credit) for one night’s charges. On one hand, confirmed reservations can be advantageous since they won’t give the room up if you show up late. On the other hand, confirmed reservations usually have cancellation charges if you do not show up.
- Always confirm your reservation the day before arrival to ensure that you do not get bumped off during peak seasons. Inform the hotel also if you are going to arrive late.
- Get the name of the person with whom you made your transaction, and don’t forget to thank him or her afterwards.
