How to Have Good Cell Phone Manner
December 31, 2009 | In: Cellular Phones, General
There are social rules that govern cell phone use in public. Here are some stuff you need to mind when you are out there with your cell phone.
Shut your phone off when you are in a hospital, the theater, an airplane, in the movie house or wherever you are asked to do so. Not only can they disturb other people when they go off, but they can also interfere signals and sensitive machineries.
Delay the call if you are in an elevator, or public transport. People really don’t need to hear every part of your conversation.
Raising your voice to be heard is just adding to the din. Simply move away from the noise of the crowd. Find a more quiet spot and carry on your conversation there.
Don’t let your cell phone ring more than once (or twice). It can be very annoying. Even if you are refusing to answer your phone, it’s still bad manners to let it ring. Switch your phone to silent mode and put it on vibrate.
It is considered rude if you are in a group and simply yak on your phone. Keep the call short and ask the person to call you at a later time or you will just call them back.
