The body needs sugar for energy but too much of it can also be bad. Here are some suggestions on how to reduce your sugar intake:
A lot of the commercial foodstuff and snacks we buy in the grocery can be filled with more sugar than we should be having. However, these snacks can look very tempting when they are all lined up in the grocery aisle.
What you can do to prevent yourself from dumping stuff in your cart is to make sure that you do not go shopping when you are hungry. Make a grocery list that has no bad snacks in them and stick to that list.
Stock on healthier items. Head for the fruits and produce section. You can substitute fruits for snacks and you can also make fresh smoothies out of them.
Health foods are no longer as bland as they were years ago. Why don’t you try them? Maybe you’ll find out that some are even more delicious than their “unhealthy” counterparts.
Good quality dark chocolate can be a little more expensive but it sure is a lot healthier. Purchase them and eat them as a snack, or you can use them for desserts too.
Soft drinks are full of sugar. You can make a healthier alternative at home. Mix sparkling water and some fruit juice such as freshly squeezed lemon or lime.
