How to Help Kids Cope with Jet Lag

Adults find it difficult to manage jet lag, what more children? Here are tips on how to help your kids cope with jet lag when you bring them to travel with you:

Make sure you keep you child hydrated with water. It is better to cope with bathroom trips that your child getting fussy because their bodies feel horrible.

Avoid sugary snacks during your travel. Opt for healthy snacks such as fruit and yogurt and non carbonated drinks. Sugar can boost energy but the crash when it wears off can only worsen your children’s temper.

Transition your children’s sleeping habits by making them sleep at nighttime and have them awake during the day.

Help your child be more comfortable with the surroundings by bringing with you a favorite toy, stuffed animal or blanket.
Preserve familiar routines as well.

Schedule the first few days in a different timezone so that activities are kept light.
