Here are some tips on how to introduce solid food to your baby:
Never compare your child with other children. Each baby has his or her own timeline when it comes to skill development and this includes an interest in solid food.
Check with your doctor on what kind of food to give and how to give them. Your doctor can give you good advice on this.
Introduce solid food slowly. This can start from a tablespoon of food until your baby can take a bowlful of it.
Be observant. Signs that your baby no longer wants to eat is if he or she is turning their head away, or they’re being fussy. Wait until the next meal to give it another shot.
It is more healthy and less expensive if you make your own baby food, but you can still try store bought ones. You’ll never know if your baby actually prefers them. Just be sure to alternate them with homemade baby food to avoid getting a lot of processed food into your baby’s body.
