Inviting Adults to a Kid-Free Party
Kids are nice. They can be lively and fun and adorable. But there are times when grown-ups need to unwind without their children in tow. If you’re holding a party and wish to convey to your guests not to bring their children, here are the things you’ll have to do:
Send invitations. What better way to say your intentions than with a written note? You may include in the invitation “Strictly Grown-Up Party,” to give your guests a hint. Do this at least 2 weeks before the party. This will give your guests time to arrange babysitters for their children.
The time factor also applies if you’re calling friends to invite instead of sending a formal invitation. Again, these would give your guests enough time to make arrangements for childcare and what-nots.
Be firm about your stand. Don’t feel bad that you are restricting your guests. Adults also need to have fun on their own, away from their children.
