Normal Blood Pressure During Pregnancy

Keeping one’s blood pressure during pregnancy is important. Women who have a high blood pressure during pregnancy are more in risk of developing complications which can endanger both the mother and the baby. Here are some helpful tipz on how to keep mommy’s blood pressure normal:

Care should begin while you are trying to get pregnant. If you are planning to have a baby, start taking care of your health better. Make sure that your blood pressure is under control. You may also have to limit your salt intake and you may also want to start exercising. If you are overweight, try to lose a bit in a right pace through healthy diet and exercise.

If you have history of hypertension, consult with your doctor. Discuss how this might affect you and your baby during pregnancy. Your doctor will give you more instructions on how to lessen these problems.

If you have been taking medication for hypertension, discuss this with your doctor too so you can be prescribed a different one if what you’re taking will harm your baby. Listen to your doctor and follow the instructions to the letter.

If you are already pregnant, obtain regular prenatal care. Your doctor will help monitor your blood pressure and you will be given further advise on what to do, eat, or take to help you keep your blood pressure normal.

Avoid alcohol and smoking. These are already bad in itself but for a hypertensive pregnant woman, this is double lethal.

Continue eating healthily, avoiding too much sweets and salty food. Have plenty of fluids and do moderate exercises.
