How to Keep Children Safe in Bunkbeds

June 30, 2010 | In: Furniture, Parenting

For the safety of children, here are some tips and suggestions that you may want to take when you decide to choose bunk beds for your kids’ bedroom.

Opt for a bunk bed for children who are six and below. Let the older kid sleep in the upper bunk.

Place the beds in a corner of the room. Let the walls be the extra support in case of mishaps.

Make sure the mattresses fit perfectly and snugly. A loose mattress can slip over the edge of the bed frame.

Attach the ladder to the top bunk and use a night life. This will make sure that your child will be safe as he or she climbs up on the bed at night.

It will also be safer if you have a guardrail installed for the upper bunk.

Do not let your kids play on their beds, especially the top part.
