How to Keep Your Breasts from Getting Sore When Breastfeeding
July 23, 2010 | In: Parenting

This is nothing new for mothers who are new or even not too new at breastfeeding.
Wash the niplles with mild soap before you start breastfeeding at home. Apply a small amount of breast milk on the nipples and letit dry for a bit fore doing the actual breasktfeeding.
Make sure that you breastfeed well. To allow good suction and to prevent your child from latching directly on to the nipple, put the entire nipple and part of the areola into the mouth of your baby. Tilt your child’s head upward so that the nipple is facing your baby’s palate. Be gentle when doing this and always make sure that the head is supported well.
Detach the mouth of your child from the nipple when the baby has finished feeding. Do this slowly by putting your small finger into the side of the child’s mouth.
