Getting a Dog License
All pet dogs are required to be licensed. This helps protect people from rabies as dogs are required to receive vaccinations before they can be registered. Licensing also helps recovery of lost animals.
Contact the animal-control agency for information on how to get a license for your dog.
Bring your dog to the vet for vaccination against rabies. You will be given proof of vaccination for you to take to your local animal-control agency when you apply for a license.
Licensing have fees so prepare the amount needed. Although fees vary depending on the agency, spayed and neutered dogs have less fees, as well as dogs owned by senior citizens.
Once the license has been awarded to you, attach the license tag to your dog’s collar. Keep the dog license where it is safe.
Renew the license as required.
