Staff turnover in human resources speak is the rate at which an employer loses and gains employees. There are many reasons for this, some of which can be prevented while others cannot. In most cases, people quit jobs for either career growth, or the working environment sucks. Whatever the reason is, a high employment turnover works negatively on a company as finding and training new employees often use up a lot of the company’s resources. Here are some tipz for managers so they can avoid a high turnover rate:

See if you can restructure your company’s organizational chart so that you can open doors for promotion. This way, people won’t leave due to lack of opportunities for career growth.

Avoid a monotonous work place . Make it stimulating and dynamic so people won’t dread coming to work just so they can be put into a coma. Have occasional meetings Ask for suggestions from people. You can have summer outings or quarterly parties. You can even put up a monthly fun contest which may or may not be related to work.

Create a positive and happy working environment. Make sure that your staff knows that they are well appreciated for their efforts. Open up channels of communication. This way you’ll know what keeps them motivated or what bugs them. Aside from that, keep the place cheerful, clean, and safe. In other words, keep your staff happy.

Show respect to your staff and they will respect you in return. Treat them fairly and just. Provide some incentive rewards for extra effort, especially if anyone goes beyond what is expected. Reprimand and remind those who lag behind.
