Buying Baby Highchair
Highchairs should provide your children safety, not an opportunity to endanger themselves.
When buying a high chair, make sure that it has a wide base so that it will be difficult to tip the chair over. Check the table part. It has to be heavy and solid and tough enough to support the weight of your child. Your child’s feet shouldn’t touch the table support so it won’t get kicked off, detaching the seat from the table. Look out for loose screws and unstable legs. Have the chair registered with the company who made it. This way, you’ll get informed when there are safety recalls.
Always follow the weight restriction that is given on the manufacture’s manual. If you are using folding highchairs, always make sure that the locking device is secure every time you set it up. Strap your child carefully, making sure he is comfortable yet safe in his seat.
Never leave your child unattended while he or she is in the highchair. Make sure that your child is always seated. Don’t let your child stand. Keep your older children from climbing or playing near their sibling’s highchair.
