How to Make a Toast (Speech)
April 17, 2010 | In: Special Occassions

Are you going to give a toast for a wedding or some other gathering. Don’t worry. Here are some tips to help you get through with it:
Keep your speech short and sweet. The longest you can get is three munutes. You can make it humorous or at least light. It’s always nice to give the audience a light and heart warming feeling.
If you are going to deliver a joke, make sure that it’s in good taste and that everyone would be able to understand it. Keep it polite and respectful of your audience.
If you know that you’re going to deliver the toast in advanced, you can research on a quote relevant to the occassion. It also won’t hurt if you practice beforehand.
When delivering the toast, make eye contact. If it’s for a particular person, look at that person. Don’t forget to relax and smile.
