Making baby food for your little tots is certainly better. Since you know what you put in the food, you know that youre kids are getting nutrients and not harmful additives.
All you need to have is a food processor (or mini food processor), or a blender (or an immersion blender), or even an old-fashioned hand mill.
Start from picking the fresh foods. These can be fruits, vegetables, or a mix of both. If you’re using some meat, make sure that you get them fresh as well. Do not put spices and other food that has strong flavors.
For vegetables, you can boil starches such as peeled potatoes and sweet potatoes and place them in a food processor, adding a bit of milk, broth, or water to have it in a consistency that is easier for baby to eat.
For fruit, simply puree bananas, apples, peaches, or fruit combinations with a bit of water, milk, or fruit juice.
Make in small quantities for immediate use. Baby food can be stored up to three days just remember to place them in freezer friendly containers. When needed, take from the freezer and thaw. Place in a microwave-friendly dish and heat. Remember to let it cool down to a safe temperature that your baby can eat without causing burns.
