We all know that eating too much fast food can be bad for your health. All those calories? Yikes! But food that we know as fast food, such as fries, burgers, and pizza can be healthy if we cook them at home. This way you can control the fat that goes into them. Here are tipz on how to cook healthy “fast food:”
Fries. The most common side dish, especially for burgers. Instead of deep frying potatoes, you can place them on a tray and bake them instead. You can also substitute sweet potatoes for potatoes. Instead of ketchup and a lot of salt, sprinkle the cut-up spuds with dried herbs.
Burgers. Use lean beef patties, chicken breasts, or salmon. Try out low-fat cheese instead of the processed ones. Instead of the regular processed white buns, substitute whole-grain buns. Grill your patties instead of frying them. Layer sliced onions, tomatoes, and dark green lettuce.
Pizza. You can buy frozen pizza dough. Use whole-wheat instead of the regular one. Try out cut or sliced fresh vegetables such as mushrooms, peppers, onions, and garlic. Use lean meat or chicken breasts instead of sausages and pepperoni. You can also use low-fat cheese. Just don’t overdo it.
