Papier -Mache Paste
The paste is the essential ingredient you will need for fun papier-mache projects, not only for your kids, but for several decorative crafts you can make for your home.
Prepare the following materials:
- water
- all-purpose flour
- mixing spoon
- plastic bowl or bucket
- salt
- white glue
Spread a plastic cover over your work area and the floor.
Get the plastic bowl or bucket and pour into it equal parts of flour and water (3 cups of water for 3 cups of flour, you get the picture). For a small project, 2 cups of flour will be enough. If you are unsure, you can always make more. Mix well using the spoon.
Test the consistency. You can add more flour to thicken it or you can add more water to thin it out. Continue mixing until you get a smooth paste. It should stick smoothly to paper strips without dripping.
You can store the paste but add some salty to it to prevent molds. You can also add white glue to it if you want it to be extra sticky.
