Preventing Holiday Weight Gain

It’s very easy to lose yourself in good (not to mention fattening) food during the holidays. And then it’s afterward that we grieve over the added pounds. To avoid the painful process of losing holiday pounds, we’ll present you with some preventive measures:

Don’t deprive yourself.
Seriously. The more you deprive yoruself of the sweets and good stuff, the more likely you’ll gorge on them when your resolve weakens. The key here is to have everything in small portions. Once you are full, stop.

Snack on healthy foodstuff such as vegetables, fruits, and nuts in between feasts. This will help you keep the hunger at bay, so when you do eat at parties, you won’t feel the need to fill yourself up because you are not hungry.

Drink water and other fluids throughout the day. Sometimes we mistake dehydration for hunger. To avoid hunger and thirst pangs that can slow down your metabolism rate, drink.

Exercise. The holidays is not an excuse to go on a holiday from sweating the calories out. This is actually the time when you need to be extra vigilant and persevering. Just think of it this way, if you can burn enough calories for a day, then you can have that piece of chocolate cake for dessert without feeling guilty about it. Nice, huh?
