How to Organize an Easter Egg Hunt for Kids

April 2, 2010 | In: Easter

Have fun this Easter by arranging a traditional Easter Egg Hunt.

First, check the weather. This way you’ll know if you can hold the hunt outdoors or if you need to prepare for an indoor venue.

Once you know where to hold the Easter egg hunt, decide up to which points in the area will you hide the eggs. A boundary is needed so that there wouldn’t be an issue on safety.

Ask help from other people. If you are holding this as a family event, ask your relatives. If this is for church or community, ask help from your churchmates and neighbors.

You can color code eggs or mark them with something to identify them for other age groups. Older kids may want a challenge so be sure to hide them well while you can make it easier for younger kids.

Make a map and plan where you will hide the eggs. Mark the spots on the map as well. Don’t forget to count the number of eggs you will hide.

Plan different prizes. You can give prizes to the kid who has found the most number of eggs, or you can give a prize for the kid who first found one, etc. You can have candy, small toys, or gift certificates as prizes.

Don’t forget to make sturdy and colorful eggs.
