How to Organize and Clean Kitchen Cabinets

April 1, 2010 | In: Cleaning, Furniture

Keep your kitchen cabinets organized by going through them on a regular basis. About twice a month is a goof schedule to keep.

Take everything out and clean the insides with a damp cloth to wipe away dust, crumbs, and other stains.

Take stock of what’s inside. Inspect which items can be discarded. These can be flatware or utensils that are chipped or rusted.

Broken appliances too should be put away. If you keep food in a pantry, toss away bottles or boxes which are empty or for food stuff that has reached its expiration date.

Buy organizers such as clear stackable airtight containers where you can transfer dry goods such as sugar, flour, and rice. You can also put silverware in containers so they don’t gather dust in the drawers.

Don’t forget to label containers. If you’re storing food, put the expiration date on the label as well.
