Organizing Cleaning Materials
Here are some tipz on buying and organizing cleaning materials for your home. This way, you keep your home clean and clutter-free, even from rogue cleansers and mops.
Before purchasing anything, make sure that you know what you need. Make a list of the cleaning materials you do need at home. This way, you won’t buy anything that you won’t use.
Look around your home and make an inspection. Find which spots would take more time cleaning or those which would need special tools or cleaning solutions.
For simple daily cleaning, there are always the basics:
- glass cleaner for windows, mirrors, and glass tops
- tile and bathroom cleaner for bathrooms and kitchen tiles
- powdered abrasive cleaner for tougher stains
- all-purpose cleaner for everything else
You can also invest on the following tools
- rubber gloves
- cleaning apron
- scraper and squeegee
- bucket
- mop, broom, vacuum cleaner
- brushes (old toothbrush)
- spray bottles
- rags, soft cloth
You can buy a small cleaning cart where you can stack everything. It’s movable so you can bring it anywhere. If you have no space for storing this, you can always put your cleaning materials in a bucket which is portable enough to carry anywhere.
Take a monthly inventory. Throw away those that are already expired. Be sure to dispose of chemicals properly. Instructions are usually printed on the label.
Clean brushes and sponges after every use. Make sure that they are dry before storing them away. Always put them where you keep them so they won’t get lost.
