Arranging Children’s Bookshelves
Are you planning to put up a shelf in your little bookworm’s room? This is a great project to work on for parents and kids.
Involve your children in deciding what kind of bookshelf to put in their room, especially since they are the one who will be using it anyway. You can both decide where to place the bookshelf, measure the dimensions of the room, pick a design, and arrange the books afterwards. Great bonding activity for you and your children!
Start with a short bookshelf. It is always easy to change to a taller book shelf as your children grow older than having to deal with accidents because your children tried to reach the top-most shelf.
Let your children decide on how to sort their books. It can be by author or arranging the books by title. You can prepare colorful labels that your children can put on the shelf as their markers.
You can also take this opportunity to weed out the books that they no longer read. Perhaps you can donate this to some institution where less fortunate kids can also have the chance to enjoy books.
